Electronic Sow Feeding

Schauer is the
world leader in electronic sow feeding with over 20 years of experience and across the globe over 10,000 feed stations in service for at least 10 years. We work with the Schauer feeding systems here in the US. The first installation in the US of Schauer ESF technology was in 2001 at a University teaching herd. Since the spring of 2005, we have started to install Schauer systems in commercial herds. We presently have over 5000 sows utilizing our feed stations here in the states and another 1000 or so sows scheduled to come on-line this summer. We believe the Schauer ESF system to be one of the best approaches to pen gestation. The electronic sow feeders provide an unparalleled way to feed individual sows, and the electronic identification of individual animals opens the door for a host of computer controlled solutions to vaccination, heat detection, and animal movement. The ESF stations can be used in a variety of pen housing options from total slatted confinement barns, to deep bedded barns to extensive pasture-based systems. Our ESF system is total flexible in its implementation and readily applicable to retrofitting existing facilities.
